I'm not sure of anything, CC! The bastardy order for Charles' daughter is at the Hants RO. Another researcher gave us the details: Bastardy Order dated 5/7/1809, Exbury, states that Charles Scufield is the reputed father of a female child of Ann Willis, born 5/2/1808 I wouldn't be at all surprised if he was actually Schofield ......

There is a family called Scuffell. They lived in Fawley, but no Charles early enough.

My geography is not what it should be but a Peter Scuffell (Ind, not b in county aged 65) is in Fawley in 1841, having had a son Charles bp in 1808. Possibly a brother?
