Sarah Edwards nee Pendleton born 13 Apr 1811 Ashover and husband George are living with William (1781)and Dorothy Pendleton in 1841 in South Wingfield.

From Sarah`s baptism (26 May 1811) her parents are John (1781) and Hannah Pendleton, who are in Ashover in 1841, they also married in Ashover 1809

I know ages were rounded down in 1841 hence both being born 1781, but i have been trying to figure out if John and William were brothers and if so, who thier parents were.

William Pendleton is age 70 on the 1851 census, widower, born Ashover, living with his son George Pendleton at South Wingfield.

There are some Pendleton baptisms at Ashover on FamilySearch around 1769 - 1789 with father's name John, and some have mother's name Jane. (John Pendleton married Jane Berdow 2 May 1769 at Ashover.) One is a John, but baptised 1772 (22 Nov). There is a William baptised 24 Dec 1780.

Findmypast has 2 death or burial entries listed for John Pendleton at Ashover in 1845, age 65. Probably one is the civil death registration index and the other the burial.

He could be the one baptised 1772 if he knocked a lot of years off his age!

Ah we cross posted, wish i was as fast as you in finding and typing. LOL

Thats interesting John baptised 1772, he could have lowered his age ???? Hannah Gill was baptised Feb 1788, but 11 years to 1781 maybe not

This would put his birth at 1780, surely he would be the right age at death.

Hannah also died in 1845, will have to send for both certs

Edited to add.. one is Derbyshire Registrars Death Index , the other is the NBI index ... buried 8 Jan 1845 ..All Saints Ashover.

There is another John Pendleton died 1839 Chesterfield age 62 so born abt 1777 hmmmm

And a John Pendleton died 1830 Ashover age 84 who could be the father on the baptisms you found
