Opinions about a burial register
Esther Amounet died in 1750 and is listed as the wife of Rene, which is correct. My question is do you think Rene was alive for that to have been recorded?
All burials give a label - a man, a woman, son/daughter of ____ . There are no widows mentioned. The next page is the same although one woman was a wisewoman! Esther Amounet The reason this is important is that there is a burial in 1744 for a Rene but there are 3 generations of Rene's so it could be his father or grandfather.

Have you found other burials for men/boys called Rene?

Not yet, no. I've just started looking back this far.

There are quite a few described just as "Woman" who could well be widows.

That's true Kate which is why I feel like Rene as alive as otherwise she would have been listed as a woman.
I've only found one online tree with the family but there are errors and not many sources so I'm finding it hard to trust it.
