The 1893 death is the wrong age for her surely. That Ann is aged 65 making her born in 1828.

I wondered about that one, but there's Ann Phillips, nurse aged 47 on the 1881 census in St Mary's Southampton who could be the one who died same Q and she was said to be born in Botley which is Southampton rather than Winchester. I've not looked to see if the nurse was still alive in 1891 though!

I don't know for sure that Anne outlived her husband. I'm waiting for his death certificate to come, if I've ordered the right one!

Thank you for that info. You've just saved me ordering the wrong certificate I'll order the other one for the Ann that died in Southampton instead. I'm just checking if any of her children lived in the Southampton area around that time.

I still can't find her son Albert in 1881 though. He is in Marylebone, London in 1891 and (probably, if I have the right Albert) married and living in Camberwell, London in 1901.
