thanks Kite. I think I found that site before but if I will have another look to see if any thing else has turned up. On British history online it says the Harvey family were netmakers in Illchester from 1780. I am not sure whether this would have been fishing nets as I first thought or a form of lace. I keep comming across references to the prisoners of Illchester jail being employed in lace making so I am wondering if they had a small business with a supply of cheap labour which ended when the jail closed.

I have found the site but it just says there was a Harvey baptised in 1782 and burried in 1861 but no other details have been transcribed.
