Is there such a place as Mitton in Essex?

I think this is her in 1871:

place of birth is Hutton which is only a couple of miles from Brentwood.

I think you're right. The occ matches too

Now to find her death
There are 3 possibles:
1875Q1 Shoreditch aged 74.........but only 70 according to the census
1875Q4 West Ham aged 74......... ditto
1881Q4 Shoreditch aged 59......... could she have told everyone that she was 16 years younger?

I guess the first one is the most likely.

Have you looked on the 1871 census for other candidates to fit the deaths?

I think it could be the West Ham one because that's where her daughter settled...

I guess I'll have to bite the bullet and buy it with crossed fingers
