29th May 1807 Roughton - according to Parish register
1808 Roughton, Norfolk, England - according to census

Names of parents
Laurence and Ann (née Case)

Date and place of baptism - if applicable
31st May 1807 Roughton, Norfolk

Details of each of his or her marriages - if any
24th February 1832 in Hindolveston, Norfolk to Mary Ann Balls
after her death in 1867 he remarried a widow who had had 8 children (some had died or moved out by then):
22nd August 1869 in Cley next the sea, Norfolk to Mary Ann Waller (widow)
(maiden name now known to be Grimes)

Occupation(s) - if any
1832-45 Wheelwright/blacksmith/joiner
1851-66 Miller
1871- Innkeeper & coal merchant (the inn was the George & Dragon in Cley which his second wife used to run with her previous husband)

After a couple of hours on familysearchrecordsearch beta site yesterday I've found his second wife's maiden name; Mary Ann Grimes.
I still haven't found her mother's name, but her father's name was Stephen.
I'm not too bothered about her because she is not my bloodline.

I love these threads because they make you look at your information again and try to fill in any gaps.
