Sue, I don't know if you have used HALS in the past, but they have the marriage in their "Hertfordshire Names on Line" facility:

https://www.hertsdirect.org/ufs/ufsm...4D6986F1E67B_1

You can order a copy of the entry directly from them.

By the way, if you would like me to try to find the baptism of James Logsdon the next time I go there, I'll see what I can do. I was going to go soon but with the weather the way it is there might be a delay.

Can you clear something up? Was James born in Hertford? The 1851 census says he was born in Broxbourne.

I think it is probably Broxbourne, but was lazy and put Hertford, meaning Hertfordshire, didn't even think of Hertford as a town !!!! I will amend it now.

Thanks for the offer of checking the baptism for me, If you get the chance to that would be lovely.

I haven't seen this site before, as I haven't got many Hertforshire rellies! but have had a look, FANTASTIC! I've ordered the marriage details, looking forward to seeing what comes

I've just had an email from HALs with the document. It's nice to see they both attempted to write their names, more educated than all my East London lot!
Shame there is no hint at their parents though.
Thanks for the pointer Elizabeth.
