Default The Largest ever Loss of Life for The Fire Brigade

This is one of the saddest and most tragic stories I have written about and what is still today, the Largest ever loss of life for the London Fire Brigade at one incident. This involves my Great Aunt, but it’s also one of the research projects that I am probably most satisfied with.

I have managed to obtain some additional photographs which I have now added to the story. The story is now fully updated.

I have built a new commemorative website dedicated to the memory of the 34 firefighters who died here. It's in its infancy but will be gradually populated over the coming months.

I have been slowly adding biographies of the 34 firefighters who died and slowly adding their stories and pictures. The last biography just published was
without a doubt, the toughest and most emotional story so far, that I have written about the 34 firefighters who lost their lives. I urge you to read this and not have a tear in your eye.

Progress has been steady, so far I have managed to complete 15 biographies of the 34 firefighters who died in this tragic incident, the full details can be found here on my website.

One of the youngest Firemen to lose their life at the Old Palace School and another family devastated by the tragedy of that fateful night in April 1941. A young man who left Dublin for the bright lights of London only to see his dreams shattered by the German Luftwaffe.

Having shared many phone calls with the Great Niece of AFS Fireman Frank James Endean and also a few tears over these last few months, I am both deeply honoured and extremely humbled to share Frank's story, this one was really personal to me........
