No help at all to you, Kate, but I have an Abby/Abbey family in Lincolnshire and I'm just abouot to order some wills for them.

I suppose your Moses might not have come from the local area.

The name Abby with variations seems to go back quite far in Norfolk, looking at FamilySearch there are quite a few Abbys in Norwich, King's Lynn and other places in the 17th and early 18th centuries, but I just don't know how Moses fits in with them! I suspect his father's name may have been Aaron as his eldest son was Aaron.

I've just found his baptism - Moses, son of Aaron and Thomasine Albey, 6 Jan 1744/5 at Shipdham, Norfolk.
