Help with missing family in 1871 please
I'd be grateful if someone could have a look for this family please. After many unsuccessful attempts, I finally found them last week in 1871. I thought I had saved the ref but apparently not. Now, I can't find them again and I can't remember how they were mistranscribed! The surname is Linsey in 1861 and Lindsey in 1870 but Lindsay on all other records.
Patrick Lindsay c1841 Cork, Ireland Bridget Lindsay c1843 Mayo, Ireland Julia Ann Lindsay c1866 Wolverhampton, Staffordshire Thomas Lindsay c1871 Newcastle under Lyme Staffordshire 1881 for reference: RG11/2700 Folio 47 P 29 I'm almost sure Thomas was with them on the 1871. Patrick was a puddler in 1861 but a bricklayer's labourer by the time of his marriage in 1870 and in 1881. |

Could this be them? Patrick's age is transcribed as 54 on ancestry but looks like 34 on the image:

Thanks for looking Kite. I had wondered about that family before and kept them "in reserve" until I found the real Patrick, Bridget and Julia the other day.

Are they not in your browser history, Gillian?

The only ones in my browser history seem to be pages which appear on my bookmarks list in firefox Kite.
I have my privacy options set to clear browsing history when I switch off unfortunately. |
