The parents of William Trusler
Here is a summary of his life:
http://www.genealogistsforum.co.uk/f...hlight=trusler So, born c 1799 in Salisbury and living in the city for every reference point I have. The obvious candidate for his parents are John and Elizabeth Trusler: https://www.ancestry.co.uk/interacti...nSearchResults William b 15 June 1799, bp 7 July, St Martins, Salisbury. William had a wife who overspent and children forever in trouble with the law, so he named his nephew, Frederick Hill as executor of hs will: https://www.ancestry.co.uk/interacti...38/edit/record This means that I need a baptism for his sister, Elizabeth, born c 1792. And I have found this: https://www.ancestry.co.uk/interacti...nSearchResults Elizabeth, dau of John & Elizabeth TRUSLAKE, bp 1792, in St Edmunds, Salisbury. It seems to me entirely feasible that the names could be synonymous. What do the rest of you think?

There is a Richard Trosleck baptised 1 Aug 1742 at Fisherton Anger, the son of Richard and Frances, and a John Trusler baptised 26 Dec 1744 also at Fisherton Anger, son of Richard and Frances.
So it does look as though they are variants of the same name. |

Brilliant, Kite!
This conundrum has been bugging me for some thirty years. Now, at last, I might start to make sense of the family!

Elizabeth Trusler (nee Saw) is buried from Winchester Street in 1836, which is where her daughter Elizabeth Hill is living in 1841.

Or is she nee Law? (as FamilySearch have transcribed it.)

I read it as Law initially, but it is actually Saw. I don't know the Wiltshire accent, but am beginning to wonder whether they have any connection with the Sorn family, which is also related to me.
