New photos of gg grandad and family
Sadly, my Grandad's cousin died just over a year ago and had no family of her own.
At her funeral I was given a big old album of postcards and photographs which I will treasure. Recently, I have been sent another hundred or so photographs from the early 1900s tracing the life of my great great aunt. Here are four of my favourites - L-R my great great grandfather, his grandson, my great great aunt, my great grandfather (driving) My great grandfather on the far left with two of his sisters, their husbands and two of their children. The family outside their house in Barry. Great Great Grandparents are the older couple in the middle. The lady on the far left was a family friend called Granny Edie and the others are all family members too. My Great Great Aunt (who my Great Grandfather was very fond of) and the cousin who died was devoted to her mother. I feel lucky to have these photos (and many more) but sad in the circumstances they came to me. I knew the lady who owned them and met her several times. My Great Great Grandfather had the same name as me (apart from my middle name) so I feel a certain connection with him. Just thought I would share |

Thank you Tom, they are wonderful photos. So great that you know who they are and I'm sure your great great aunt would have been delighted to leave them to someone who would treasure them. I'm not sure what I will do with all my collection.

Thanks you two I now have to work out how I am going to keep them.
They haven't come out very well on this site for some reason. Scanned them at a high resolution and they look great on the computer. Maybe putting them through photobucket has done something. Am going now to show them to my Grandad (it's his Dad driving the car). |
