Default British Newspaper Summer Sale

I thought I had taken advantage of their summer sale - month sub £1.

When I entered my card details they said they had taken £9.95

I have fired off an email query, but am disturbed that the price I was agreeing to was either not clearly set out or plain wrong.

Anyone else had similar problems?

You did enter the promotion code, didn't you, Phoenix?

Yes, and it showed that the price was £1.00.

Usually you have an obvious box saying the rate you have chosen. okay, I did it late at night, but I bet I'm not the only person the system has tripped up.

I would try it out myself, to see whether it works o.k. for me but not if it is going to charge me £9.95!

Ah, there is someone on their Facebook page saying the same thing happened to their friend but they noticed that it was going to charge them £9.95 before they actually went ahead and paid.

I've just tried it out - logged into my account and clicked on subscribe then selected "It's for me" and typed the promotion code in and it is showing that it would charge me £1. But I'm not going to put the payment through just now as I have to go out.

I have received an email back, saying they have amended the charge for me

I've received an email about this offer. If I take out the sub, what do I get that I do not get via the newspaper collection on FMP?

Nothing, except that if you search on the British Newspaper Archive site, you would be able to click and view the articles on there rather than have to repeat the search on FMP to view them.

The search facility's better on the BNA site than FMP.
