I'm totally confused! Maybe it will make more sense when we have done catchup weeks for the other TOG boards.

Doesn't mean he's yours. There are absolutely loads of parishes not even started to be transcribed yet.

Where in Nottinghamshire in Ashwell, can't find it on Google Maps.

Where does Worksop come into it? First post. That's almost in South Yorkshire. Also, Ilkeston is only a spit away from Derbyshire.

I really think you have got a bit mixed up on this man Babs. It can't be the same man all the way through.

Okay, having looked back through TOG, TO1G, TO2G and TO3G, we know for sure that your 2xg-grandfather is Samuel Revel christened 21 Sep 1807 Ashwell, Rutland, parents Samuel and Alice, and that the parents' marriage is Samuel Revel / Alice Hinman 15 Dec 1803 at Ashwell, Rutland. And Samuel jr did definitely move to Ilkeston.

But because there is no TO3G thread for Samuel Revel senior (yet) I'm not sure what info is definite about him.

Think that's best Babs. I was getting very confused.

Then if you link to the others we can try to sort it out
