Solomon Zalig Hart 1818-1881 London
Solomon Zalig Hart born abt 1818.
SZ was Jewish, so no baptism. He is sometimes recorded as Solomon and sometimes as Zalig. Parents: Moses and Leah [maiden name not known. Leah's death cert gives husband's name as Zalig, a fishmonger, but not sure if this was another name for Moses] Marriage according to Jewish rites, to Mary Joel, 28 July 1844 at 2 Stoney Lane, Aldgate, London. Mary died in 1869 and SZ married Hannah Myer. 2nd marriage not found In death notice in the Jewish Chronicle, Mary is named as Elizabeth, though husband Zalig and the addresses - both 101 Middlesex Street and 32 Westbourne Terrace North and her age all fit. Children: Moses 1846, Betsy 1847, Daniel 1850, Benjamin 1851, Rosetta 1853, Zusman 1854, Lipman 1856 1841 Solomon Hart age 20, fishmonger, Petticoat Lane [Middlesex Street] London 1851 Age 33, fishmonger at 101 Petticoat Lane 1861 age 43, fishmonger 101 Middlesex Street 1871 age 54 1881 age 68 fishmonger at 32 Westbourne Terrace North, Paddington Death 17 Oct 1881 at 36 Westbourne Terrace North Solomon Zalig Hart age 67, fishmonger, of apoplexy.
