Default William Thomas Badcock (MFMF)

Name - "official" name and what they were known as: William Thomas Badcock

Date and place of birth: 02 Aug 1821, Shrivenham, Berkshire

Names of parents: Joseph Badcock and Elizabeth (nee Hughes)

Date and place of baptism - if applicable: 31 Oct 1821 at St Andrew, Shrivenham, Berkshire


Details of each of his or her marriages - if any: 17 Nov 1850 at St George the Martyr, Southwark to Elizabeth Ann Hawes.
On 24 Aug 1880 he applied for a licence to marry Elizabeth Wright aged over 21 at St Johns Brownswood Park (she was of that parish) but no marriage took place.

Occupation(s) - if any: Grocer

1841: in Shrivenham, Berkshire with older brother John, sister Thirza, grandmother Charlotte
1851: 4 Burlington Place (Old Kent Road) Camberwell
1861: 4 Burlington Place (Old Kent Road) Camberwell
1871: 327 Old Kent Road, (also known as 4 Burlington Place, Old Kent Rd) south London
1881: Entered as Balcock 288 New Cross Road, Deptford. Widower. His widowed sister Thirza was staying and was wrongly entered under her maiden name

This house is still there and is right next to Deptford Town Hall, it's now part of Goldsmith's College.

Date, place and cause of death: 10 May 1887 @ Clifton House, 288 New Cross Rd, Deptford, need to dig out cert for cause of death

Date and place of burial / cremation: 16 May 1877, Nunhead Cemetery

Details of will / administration of their estate - if applicable: Probate 22 Jun 1887 @ Principal Registry to Joseph & William Thomas Badcock (sons) and Henry Cushen (friend and had been married to one of his cousins). Basically, he left money to daughter, business to sons. Older son Joseph also got his gold watch.

Memorial inscription - if any: unknown

I now have a public tree on Ancestry called "William Thomas Badcock" which has detailed entries for both his and his wife's family.
