I can't understand one thing.

The George Baker you have the birth cert for, parents William and Maria nee Griffiths:

Where the heck is he on the census? He never appears with them. I've looked for a death but there isn't one in Pontypool before 1861. Of course he could have died elsewhere in Momouthshire but as the ages aren't on the indexes then it's impossible to know.

There isn't a George Baker anywhere in 1861 who fits that child.

No I spent ages last night going though it myself Marg ;;;just baffling isnt it ;;
Howie thought at one point that the chepstow one was him and living with his grandfather in 61 or 71 but god knows ;;;why was he so dammed adamant about pontypool monmouthshire ;;??? guess we will ever know for now ;;

It's the same with Dave's grandad. The 1911 says he was born in Rotherham, Yorkshire. Can't find him before 1911 and can't find a birth either.

I have two and one is Tez's G Grandfather same as this one is mine lol carnt belive 2 branches stuck at G Grandparents ;;

Dave's is stuck at Grandad and it's his main line.
