Thomas was a candidate for Lord Egremont of Petworth's bounty of clothes in Jan 1825 he was not successful but it gives his employer. He missed out on a

"Brown Scotch sheeting round frock, fustian trowsers, flannel waistcoat, hats.

Thomas Curtis. Parish: Sutton. Number of children under 14 at home: 2. Other information: Belongs to Barlavington. Works for Mr Gadd, very industrious. Bounty given: No"

He was successful in December 1826 though the clothing is not specified:
