Date and place of birth – abt 1777, possibly in Lymington, Hampshire although birth not found yet.
His marriage certificate states he is “of Lymington” and an article published in 1806 he is “George Tivers of Lymington Academy”.

Details of each of his or her marriages – to Mary Ann Gaigor/er (nee Carter) on 1 October 1810, St Lawrence, Winchester, Hampshire (sometime mistranscribed as Tever)

Occupation(s) – Schoolmaster (his obituary states he was ‘Master of a respectable Academy’)

Addresses where they lived (including county if in UK) - and please list which censuses you have or haven't found him/her on (if s/he lived in census times!).
Various publications he contributed to in 1805 & 1806 list him as ‘of Axbridge Academy’ although one in 1806 refers to him as ‘of Lymington Academy’.
Married in 1810 in Winchester, Hampshire (his bride’s home town)
His elder son was born in October 1811 in Axbridge, Somerset.

Date, place and cause of death – July 1813, Axbridge, Somerset. Cause unknown

Date and place of burial – 17 July 1813, St John the Baptist, Axbridge, Somerset.

Details of will / administration of their estate – nothing found yet

There are quite a few families named Tiver (without the 's') in the North Petherton area of Somerset, but I haven't been able to link them to my George yet.

The nearest I could find was this:

I'd never thought about a name change like that, but I've been saying the name 'Tarver' in my attempt at a Hampshire dialect () and it does sound like 'Tiver'.

Sue, when I was searching for the name Tiver/Tivers the only ones I found were your family when/after George married.

I did find one marriage apart from George:
John Tiver and Hannah Richards
10 Oct 1774 Portsea St Mary

Those were the only two Tiver/Tivers marriages on the entire disk (1754-1837).

It's the vowel sounds, Sue, when I think of it.

Growing up in Devon, I know that vowel sounds can alter one's perception of a word!

Thank you for looking for me and for the link to the CALM Hampshire database Elizabeth. I'm off to have a look now.

The main thing that puzzles me about the spelling though is that George Tiver(s) was a schoolmaster and also a frequent contributor to various publications in the early 1800s as Tivers, so presumably he would know how to spell his own name!
