FamilySearch has a Diss burial 22 Dec 1839, James Rice, and the image shows his age as 50, abode Diss.

Oh, it's starting to come back to me now - his wife couldn't decide whether she was a Millicent, Melicent, Amelia, or Emily! She's on the censuses as Amelia or Emily Rice, born Palgrave, Suffolk, about 1788, and she was buried at Diss Cemetery 17 Nov 1870, age 83.

Son William is born out of county on the 1841 and born Diss on the 1851, and was baptised at Palgrave, Suffolk, 24 Dec 1815, parents James and Emily.

So James and his wife may have got married in Suffolk, which would explain why I can't find their marriage online!

Hi Babs, I'm looking at this family to see if anything new appears.

Could you add all additional information you find to your first post, please? It saves having to scroll down and take everything in.

But that's a different James Rice isn't it? It has a different date and place of death for him and no family members shown.
