A contact has told me he rented "Mr Board's house" which is now the Crown Inn. I have a land tax document of 1798 which places his son Nathan at the Crown, it would appear that Nathan was the first person to run it as an inn Date, place and cause of death Sep 1764, Horsted Keynes Date and place of burial. 25 Sep 1764, St Giles, Horsted Keynes Details of will / administration of their estate - if applicable Made 6 Oct 1755, probate 16 Dec 1764 to son Nathan. John's father James was appointed to keep the register of births deaths and marriages in Horsted Keynes during the Interrugnum in 1653 after the passing of "An Act touching Marriages and the Registring thereof; and also touching Births and Burials".
