As well as the birth reg for Catherine J Ellis there is this one:
ELLIS, HANNAH mmn DIGGLE GRO Reference: 1902 D Quarter in BRADFORD Volume 09B Page 46 who most likely died in 1903 Q2 and was not included in the original figures for the 1911 census for Mary E Barley.

Very interesting, if Hannah was Mary Ellen's daughter then why did she say she had only had 2 children in 1911? Her using her mother's maiden name for her children in 1911 is also very odd, maybe she was hiding from George? An interesting problem, although I am only really concerned about Fred, who was my relative. Thanks for the help
