Default Knott family

Hi,
Any thoughts of suggestions about this family would be gratefully received.

I am trying to find out a few more details about William Knott, born 1806 in Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire.

This is him in 1841:

https://search.ancestry.co.uk/cgi-bi...ntPageIsStart=

...and in 1851:
https://www.ancestry.co.uk/interacti...62/edit/record

His wife, Elizabeth (formerly Davenport) must have died between the birth of their last child Rebecca (born in 1846 in West Bromwich) and the 1851 census. I haven't found her death yet.

I think that this might be him in 1861:
https://search.ancestry.co.uk/cgi-bi...ntPageIsStart=

but it would mean he had remarried to have the three younger children. I am assuming the "Hemer R" is Rebecca.

Then, the same family again in 1871 (with his 87 year old father too!):

In summary, I am trying to find a death for his first wife, Elizabeth and then details about his second family. At the moment, I can see a possible marriage in 1854, but cannot see birth registration details for the children.
Mary, c1853
William, c1855
Joseph, c1859

Thanks for looking...

William Knott married Mary BROWN or Mary CREATON in 1854 in Wednesbury St Bartholomew.

Looks like a Mary died in JAS 1859 in West Bromwich district aged 32 who could be her, I suppose.

Tom, your second link (the one that is supposed to be to the 1851 census entry) takes me to your tree and tells me to contact you for more information because it's a private tree.

It was Mary Brown, a widow.

Age matches for that death to be hers.

Also, you say Rebecca died in 1846 but is on the 1861 census? Or did you mean to say she was born in 1846?

Sorry, doesn't read very clearly (typing too quickly). Rebecca was born in 1846, so Elizabeth must have died after 1846, but before the census in 1851.

William Knott married Mary Brown, and William Round married Mary Cleaton.

Ah, just spotted this post. So Mary's maiden name was Shipley.

Hmmm, I may be barking up the wrong tree entirely, but there is a William Knott birth in 1856 with MMN Thornley and an Emma Rebecca Knott in 1863 also with MMN Thornley.
