Yes, I didn't say that adopted Florence was definitely Florence Rose, only could be. It sounds as though she has been ruled out now, so we could have another look for Florence Rose and see if we can work out what happened to her.

On the 1881 census she is listed as Rose but as on her birth cert has her down as Florence Rose if I was trying to search for on 1891 census her, would I put the search criteria as Rose Jones or Florence Rose Jones.

She could be listed as Rose Jones, Florence Jones, Rose Williams or Florence Williams, but Merry already found a very likely entry for her on the 1891 census as Florence Williams age 11, inmate in Northampton Workhouse, birthplace unknown:

There is a link to that 1891 entry on the ancestry tree that I did for you, Zoe. I have removed the 1901 and 1911 residence entries from her but I don't know how to stop them showing as "sources".

I have an A*****y hunt for Florence Jones

1911 England census, Ed, vessel 17, household schedule 198, piece 8550, married to a Thomas Jones with 2 sons. No hint for her in 1901,

The Florence married to Thomas is nee Wilb(e)y, b Irchester (reg Q2 1881) and married Q2 1902.
