Default John Thornton Bentall

A friend drew my attention to the baptism on May 10, 1801 at St Bride Fleet Street, London, of a boy named John Thornton, son of Thornton Bentall and Susanna Cutmore, : see
https://www.ancestrylibrary.com/disc...=successSource

We know a lot about the father, but we have found nothing more about the mother or additional information about this illegitimate child, and wonder if there is any way to trace them.

Thornton Bentall was a brother of my FFFF. He was aged 20 at the time, and was a clerical apprentice at a bank in which his 3rd cousin, Henry Thornton MP, was a leading partner. Later that year Thornton signed up as the purser on an East Indiaman, and traveled to Madras and Calcutta, returning in November 1802. He then moved back to his home town of Totnes, Devon and in 1805 married Margaret Eleanora Admonition Marshall, younger sister of his brother's wife. He died in 1844, and the couple was childless. There has been no hint in any family papers about any illegitimate son, but that is not surprising.

I can't see any way you can link this burial with the baptism, since I imagine the informant on any death certificate would be an official, but this is the burial of a John Cutmore aged 39 in 1838: https://www.ancestry.co.uk/imageview...fa&pId=9767862
