Default o, the joys of Ancestry contacts

Me: you have mutual ancestors with Best Mate in X and Y. Do you want to know more?
She: silence

Today, she shows up with common ancestors.
Great.... except that she has omitted a couple of generations that I hadn't told her about, so it appears that the mother is 80 when the child is born!

Don't think I'll bother to correct her.

My late brother did an Ancestry DNA test, which produced three contacts we already knew (great, at least we did the same paper research then) and a fourth, who was most excited as we both have the surname Holden in our tree. She opened her tree, the person she thought was the match was nothing to do with us. I'm sure there was a match somewhere in her tree but frankly I couldn't be bothered to wade through every name on her tree of 22,000 people.....
