Tithe applotment records are useful for the pre-famine period. It records people on land of one acre or more.

BMD Records for some places, others are slowing being added.

I found my Great Grandmother's baptism on here. It was a great help to get further back!

Try going into the "Family History News and Information" forum and then do "Search this Forum" and try the words 'Ireland' and 'Irish' (separately) in the search box. There are quite a few threads with info that might help you.
