Default Protestation Oath Rolls

Can anyone remember how to search these?

Here is Wiltshire: https://digitalarchive.parliament.uk...e/n22/mode/2up

but I have no idea how to search for other records.

http://archivesmapsearch.labs.parliament.uk/

and select map search.

I think it is the only way, but happy to be proved wrong

Thank you, Chris!

More by luck than judgement, I have also found this: https://www.lostcousins.com/newslett...ionReturns.htm

It is frustrating that it is such a brilliant source, but challenging to access.

Can't help with the search but the only one I have found was quite by accident and it ws embedded at the back of the parish register I was browsing.

It was absolutely amazing to see original signatures at a time when I had supposed most people to be illiterate. Even those who made their mark, made elaborate and skilled marks, not the usual shaky X. Yet another compelling reason to look at original documents.

I felt the same way, OC.Nightmare of a site to navigate, though - I gave up

trying to identify the area of Bucks I was looking for.
