Default Where do they get this stuff?

myheritage.com has 2xg grandfather's second wife as mother of ten, including

first wife's daughter, plus my grandfather,(her step-grandson) b 1869.

Considering they were married for just seven years and she died in 1849, thats

some achievement.

I am descended (if nobody lied!) from Sir Walter Raleigh's Auntie Joan.

All the men in that family were called Wimond or Walter. They all married Catherines, daughter of - Edgecombe. I have seen a page setting out (at least) FIVE comparative pedigrees because everyone got confused about whether Dad was a Wimond or a Walter, and whether Catherine was a mother, or the third wife.

It is distressing easy to get generations muddled when you are just clicking the next link, but it has always happened, even in printed pedigrees. (and I'm not guaranteeing that I haven't done it myself!)

My 4g grandfather George Best was convicted of theft and transported to Australia. Nearly every tree out there has his parents as James and Frances of Boxley, Kent.

James and Frances' son, George, however, was a fine upstanding citizen and didn't stray far from home. He married and died in Kent approximately 20 years before my 4g grandfather died, but you can't let the facts get in the way of a good story.

PS: I'm waiting for Nell to continue

Well, as I seem to be playing by myself (where are you, Nell?) I offer the

following:-

Sir Walter Raleigh's Auntie Joan

Called him on the telephone.

"Walter, you're hopeless, you really are

The worst explorer in the world, by far.

Those potatoes you brought, they just won't light.

I tried and the cat got an awful fright.

That tobacco won't boil, its really no good.

I can't even use it as a pud.

Bring something better from your next trip.

Fill every space on each mighty ship.

Don't want a repeat of all this mayhem."

(Now, I wonder what else I can do with them?)
