My DNA results are back
As I thought from my research I’m 100% English. Daughters however obviously on their dad’s side are a variation of;
France 8%, Ireland and Scotland 5% and Italy 2% The Irish could be my husbands maternal grandmothers side, Stanbridge, although I haven’t got back to Ireland, they are Oxfordshire based but Catholic. The France and Italy intrigues me. Peter Henry Harrison? I’ve not looked at matches yet, far too late at night for that

I have yet to work out my 3% French. Unless it's the Bangays - English back to 1600.

I expect the ‘foreign’ blood is a long way back but obviously on my husbands side as it doesn’t appear in mine.

Marg, your results came through simultaneously with my husband's results! We shall both be busy.

A friend who sent hers in before me is still waiting for her results.

Confused mainly.
I’ve not spent a great deal of time on it but any matches that have come up have been my side. I have messaged one person who came up as a 3rd cousin for Lorna but no reply. No online tree to look through so I don’t know what names. Thru lines only give me a link to the wrong Peter Harrison.

After four weeks of nagging finally got Dad to do his sample last Saturday when he was visiting and they posted it on Tuesday, so hopefully it won't take too long. Now just got to get my mother to do hers. At least with Dad's I'll know which side of the family all my results are from.

Assuming you are using ancestry, that is.

On the Beta under All Matches there is the "shared matches with mother" and "shared matches with father". I would have thought, and I'm happy to be corrected, that provides the facility to see which side of the family the matches are from otherwise what would be the point at providing separate sections?
