Oh right. That was a record I had found ages ago. But the good news is that I have managed to find her! I was looking at her in 1851 and at the side, there were suggestions of other records, including one for an Elizabeth Anthony in 1901, married to Albert,. I then checked for a marriage and found one, in St Pancras in 1878 and theparish records show her to have father Samuel which is right. Just got Caroline to find now as well as Elizabeth in the missing years.

For some reason, Elizabeth Anthony and family have called themselves Clarke in 1891:

Thanks Merry. I have now found them in 1891, listed as Clarke! I was looking at their son albert in 1901 and a suggested record to look at was for Albert Clarke and there they were, although it is quite faint.

For the record, Caroline Allen married a Clarke and Caroline Barnard married William Henry Mitchell. There don't appear to be any other Carolines of the right age who came from Ellingham.

It seems stragnge that Mary Ann didn't have her little sister as a witness when she married Walter Rennie in January 1876, so I do wonder if Caroline was already dead at that stage?

Their son Albert married Kate Ethel Millwood in 1908 and they emigrated to Canada before 1911. The marriage cert doesn't suggest Albert senr was dec'd at the wedding date, but of course that doesn't mean he wasn't.

What did Ann (nee Drake)die of? This looks like her burial and two of her sons in 1860: https://www.ancestry.co.uk/interacti...=4143502_01663

Merry our posts yesterday morning seem to have crossed! Thanks for finding Albert's marriage, how did you know he went to Canada? Incidentally Mary Ann also went to Canada with her 2nd husband Robert Wholey.

Ann died of inflammation of the lungs, I don't know about the boys.

I found a possible death for Elizabeth in Battersea in 1933, which is where her brother William had been living before he died in 1935

I think this is Albert's passenger listing:

Albert Anthony 26 abt 1883 29 Apr 1909 Liverpool, England Quebec, Canada

I'm not sure which Mrs Anthony is his wife (separate sailing) but several trees have them on the 1911 Canadian Census together. I don't have access to Canadian records on Ancestry but this is from Family Search:

Maisonneuve Sub-Districts 127-167, Quebec, Canada

Household Role Sex Age Birthplace
Albert Anthony Chef Male 27 England
Kate Anthony Wife Female 27 England
Ethel Anthony Daughter Female 1 Quebec
Albert Anthony Father Male 65 England
Elizabeth Anthony Mother Female 62 England

So, Albert's parents went as well!

Thanks Merry, that is very interesting. The marriage was actually 25th April 1909, so they got married just before he left! Elizabeth's sister Mary Ann emigrated in 1912.
I have had a look for that record on Familysearch, but couldn't find it. I haven't used the site much in years, it looks very different.
