Blue dot against some DNA matches on Ancestry

Someone on Facebook has a theory that the blue dot is being used to mark people who have updated their tree or linked a new tree to their DNA test.

Is it part of Ancestry's strategy to keep us all guessing?

That would be good if it was true. I guess the only other thing they could do is make updated dots a dark blue.

I have just discovered that I can change status to unread, and so get that blue dot back.
