Default Fmp dna

Are there any known privacy or security concerns regarding FMP?

Just deciding whether to upload to them while it is free.

Well, their DNA partner is Living DNA whose site really isn't doing much at the moment. They have a thing called Family Networks which is supposedly in Beta, which is the equivalent of a DNA match list but comes up with very few (or no) matches. But if they got it working to spec it would show a family tree with how all your matches are estimated to be related to you. They do have privacy options such as opting out of Family Networks and apparently most people have opted out of it, which is their explanation for why so few matches.

If you look for reviews of Living DNA, they seem to have terrible customer service, so if they ever do get it working and there are any privacy or security problems, I wouldn't expect them to fix them quickly!

Also FMP isn't linking the DNA test to trees on their site as far as I know.

And I don't know whether you will get a free ethnicity estimate from Living DNA if you upload now, but you could try.
