Default UK Family History Fairs

I am delighted to see that there are FH Fairs at Chichester, Sussex on Saturday 17th May and another the next day at Maidstone, Kent.

I have never been to a UK Fair and I am wondering what will be available?

How can I make the best use of what is on offer?

Thanks Julie

Check the stall holders from the website to see who will be there. I can't remember whether we will be attending or not.

The big players have cornered the market in census information, but you should find indexes and transcripts (pew rents, bastardy bonds, monumental inscriptions, parish registers) for a variety of places across the south east. Our stall specialises in old maps and local histories - where you can often discover snippets not available anywhere else.

Above all, talk to the stall holders and there should be people with local knowledge to suggest how to find out more.
