Default William Bartlett

William Bartlett, son of William Bartlett and Agnes nee Bickford

Ought to have been born in Marldon or St Marychurch Devon or possibly Stoke Gabriel. No trace found anywhere of a baptism, presumably somewhere between 1693 and 1705 (wife bp 1697)

Married 1 April 1724 at Marldon to Mary Bickford. All the pedigrees say they are first cousins. I don't know if that is true.

Buried 24th April 1768, St Marychurch, Devon. His will was proved 21 June 1768.

Brothers Jacob (bp 10 May 1692, Marldon) and Thomas (bp 28 March 1701, Marldon) both mention William in their wills. Thomas describes him as "of St Marychurch, Gent"

In the Devon Freeholders Book of 1751, William is described as a mariner.

I cannot currently lay hands on the copy I have of a transcript of his will, but he had a part share in a vessel.
