Default John Baker

Name - "official" name and what they were known as
John Baker

Date and place of birth
1775 Yarmouth, Norfolk, England

Names of parents
John Baker & Priscilla (née Custance)

Date and place of baptism - if applicable
St Nicholas, Yarmouth 8th March 1775

ARGHHHHH - PROBLEMS IN RESEARCH: The familysearch.org record says that the spouses (John & Harriet) were each aged 22 (so born in 1784 not 1775) BUT John's mmn is Custance - which comes out as a given name to John's grandson - http://www.genealogistsforum.co.uk/f...custance+baker I'm all befuddled now...

Details of each of his or her marriages - if any
17th December 1806 to Harriet Sales in Holt, Norfolk
I'm guessing he probably married again because they had 9 children that I know of, and the youngest was only one year old when Harriet died in 1821.
However, he was a widower again by 1851

Occupation(s) - if any
Ironmonger

Addresses where they lived (including county if in UK) - and please list which censuses you have or haven't found him/her on (if s/he lived in census times!).
1841 Holt, Norfolk (HO107 776 b31 folio 22 p5)
1851 16 Victoria Street, Lakenham, Norfolk (HO107 1815 folio 139 p27)

Date, place and cause of death
1851-61 but not found yet

Date and place of burial.
his wife, Harriet, was buried in Holt in 1821

Details of will / administration of their estate - if applicable

Memorial inscription - if any

This is his son: http://www.genealogistsforum.co.uk/f...ighlight=baker

I've found another John Baker Chr 09.10.1784 at St Nicholas, Yarmouth, son of William & Elizabeth.

There is a John Baker, aged 86 (b1775) Yarmouth, living at 16 Victoria Street in Lakenham, with his 50 year old daughter Mary-Ann too, on the 1861 census too, that probably where the confusion has come from... (RG9 1216 folio100 p3)

I've been trawling the Holt registers but I can't find another marriage for John Baker.

The Holt PR entry for the marriage in 1806 doesn't give their ages but they married by licence so I guess the age 22 comes from the licence allegation or bond. Witnesses to the marriage were Charles Sales, Margt Baker and Sarah Scott. FamilySearch has Norfolk marriage bonds but I haven't managed to find it in there yet. They seem to be in a bit of a muddle.
