Get your thinking caps on!
Link to this thread added to BK6 WMHM
I am researching someone my grandmother may have had a liason with! lol I am trying to find out more about the wife this man was married to at the time. I want to trace her in 1901 or before that. They married in 1908 and I think I've found the wife in 1911. I didn't have enough credit to get the actual page, so bought the transcript, to get her place of birth. This hasn't helped as the transcript says 'Headride'??!!! I don't know what it's supposed to say. Others on the page say London or Switzerland. Her OH isn't at home probably because he was in the army. Other than that, her name before marriage was Nellie Holt (I think she was aka Helen) and the 1911 suggests she was born about 1884. I have been told her marriage cert has her father's name down as 'W J Holt' (but I don't know what occ was recorded) and he must have been living as he helped his dau pay for her divorce in later years. In case it inspires you, here they are......: My gran front left, Nellie front right, and Nellie's husband punting on The Thames near Twickenham, probably at the end of WW1.

By some miracle I seem to have come by the 1911 image
I still can't work out that birthplace begining with H. The other people have all completed their own details (and all have better handwriting than Nellie), so there was not really any point in posting more of the image.

The first part definitely looks like Head. Could it end "ly". I don't know enough about English geography to hazard a guess.

I agree that's what it looks like.
Good idea Phoenix! So, where does 30 refer to??? I've just looked through the few 1911 census sheets I have, but none have 30 on them

Could it be Headley? Either Hampshire or Surrey?
Try this one........ There is a Nellie Hoboken (?) listed in Epsom, Surrey in 1901 living with her father William Holt, a racehorse trainer. Married to Anthony Hoboken (?). Just trying to get the reference now........... RG13/583 page 18 Was she a spinster on her marriage certificate?
