Default Essex help needed.

Is there any new way of searching Essex records pre 1837??

I've tried Essex records office for what they have online as well as FreeReg and can't get what I'm after.

Thanks

I don't think there's anything new, Libby, though I think Essex Record Office are working towards putting all the PR's online.

Although there's much more online now, in most cases if you want parish registers you have to go to a records office or order microfilm from your nearest LDS family history centre.

Nell.............the place search facility seems to be down on Familysearch, but last time I looked and emailed, they didn't have very much as Essex hasn't released their records.

I just though there might be something new I'd missed.

Thanks Bev...........tried that.

I'm trying to prove or disprove my William Ketley born c 1796 is the son of William Ketley and Susannah Perry.

It's the only bit missing for the the next three generations back. Trouble is that Ketley is very common in Essex.
