The only evidence I have for this bloke's year of birth is the censuses, in 1841, which is always suspect, is is 1796.( I thought they were meant to round them up to 10 years, this made him 45) in 1851 it is 1791 (60 years old) and he died before birth years were added.

Despite what others say about death certs not having correct ages because the person who knew was dec'd, I have always found death ages to be more accurate than ages on the census, so I think maybe you should get the death cert and see what age is on that.

Ages on the 1841 census were round down to the nearest 5 years for adults.

In that case perhaps the YOB is nearer to 1791, I will get the death cert will order tomorrow. I don't think it's going to help find a baptism though!
