Looking at FamilySearch, I think the Thomas and Elizabeth Ball who Susan is with in 1841 are likely to be the couple who got married in 1792 (Thomas Ball & Elizabeth Berry) - if Thomas is a few years older than 60 in 1841! And there is a Mary Ball daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth baptised 1803, who could belong to that couple, and another one 1787 (the date you have put in your post #1) who is unlikely to be theirs unless Thomas is a lot older than he claims on the 1841 census. The one baptised 1803 would be too young to be Susannah's mother unless she was a few years old when baptised.
There is a Thomas Ball baptised 1770, parents Thomas and Elizabeth, so maybe that's the Thomas on the 1841, and maybe Susannah's mother was the one baptised 1787 and was his sister? If we can find out why she called herself Jones! |

Oooooooooh too many possibilities! I'm even more confuddled now!
The dispatch date for Susannah & Thomas's marriage certificate is 17 September - let's hope her father is listed on there. Maybe then we can find out some answers, although I'm not that optimistic.

The certificate has arrived! Not sure it helps much though.
Susan Jones' father is listed as Thomas Jones, a labourer. It doesn't say 'deceased'. I'll look for a marriage between a Mary (Ball?) and a Thomas Jones in Worcestershire about 1800 - 1813.
