Default Margaret Hunt (Sadlier or Sadler)

Hi

I need some help with trying to find out when my great grand mother died & where (if) she is buried.
Her name is Margaret Elizabeth Hunt (nee Sadlier or Sadler)
Born 1850 in Bathurst NSW Australia
Died ?

Her Husband is Anthony Hunt
Born 9 Feb 1855 Sydney NSW Australia
Died 8 Dec 1925 Homebush NSW Australia

3 Children

Richard John Hunt
Born 1880 Penrith NSW Australia
Died 1935

Herbert Harcourt Hunt (My grand father)
Born 1888
Died 21 mar 1938

Tillie Lisbeth Francine Hunt
Born 1887
Died 1966

I know Margaret was still alive in 1935 & I have been told that she lived
to 101 years old but that could be a rumour.

I have done a fair bit of searching but have done no good.

Thanks
Scott

Hi Scott and welcome to the forum.
You have posted your thread on the General Discussion board, which can only be seen by registered members of the site, and which is regularly "pruned" of old threads. Would you like me to move it to our Research Questions board, which is open to everyone to view including non-members (and search engine bots) and which doesn't get "pruned"?

The NSW BMD index has a death entry for a Margaret Hunt in 1949, Burwood district, parents' names Thomas and Elizabeth (which matches the parents' names on the birth registration for Margaret Sadlier), but I can't find it on ancestry to check her parents' surnames and her age at death.
(Edit - just checked, and the ancestry Australian death index doesn't cover that year for NSW)

The electoral rolls for 1943 has Tillie Lisbeth Francine Hunt at 25 Belmore Street, Burwood, with a Margaret Hunt listed at the same address. On the 1949 electoral roll Tillie is still listed at the address, but not Margaret.

Welcome Scott. If you think that death could be your person, and it does sound right, the buy the cert from NSWBDM and it will have where she us buried.

I doubt he knows about the Ryerson Index Julie.

Scott have you found trove yet? This is where you can see old papers that have been digitised. You need to search here for Henry John, too.

Newspapers

The Ryerson Index is a list of death notices and states what papers you can find them in.
