Default 1823 London Directory

http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=R...ory%22&f=false

" An Alphabetical list of more than 18,000 Merchants and Traders of London and parts adjacent. The Directors of Companies. A Correct list of the London and County Bankers. A list of Public Offices etc"

Edit - for some reason I have to click on that link twice before it works!

Thanks for that, Joan. I hadn't seen that one before. When I clicked on your link I got some Internet Explorer message about compatibility which said it had had to reload the page for me but then it was fine.

If you search for a name and don't find it, it's worth finding a name that's close in the alphabet and browsing through in case Google missed it.
