Hoorah - first time I've had one


This week, we are focussing on your mother's mother's father's father's father's father.


Can you fill in all of the following information about that person:

Name - "official" name and what they were known as William Cook
Date and place of birth (Not sure but first child born 1763)
Names of parents Dont know
Date and place of baptism - if applicable N/A
Details of each of his or her marriages - if any 3 Sept 1763 to Betty Kelsey, but dont know where - around Hampshire I'd say
Occupation(s) - if any
Addresses where they lived (including county if in UK) - and please list which censuses you have or haven't found him/her on (if s/he lived in census times!). The descendants were born around the area of Sheet, Hampshire
Date, place and cause of death Not Known
Date and place of burial. Not Known
Details of will / administration of their estate - if applicable
Memorial inscription - if any

No Census available but their children were

The marriage was at Petersfield, Hampshire, as I posted on your TO4G Betty Kelsey thread a few weeks ago. Both of Petersfield; witnesses James Brown and Betty Collingburn

Sorry Kate, I don't know why I put the date in and not the place

I presume there is no birth or death for William Cook then, in the early 1700's?

The transcribed Petersfield baptisms don't go back that far yet. I couldn't find a burial for him either but of course if he was buried somewhere else there are too many possibles.

Was Betty baptised in Petersfield, and do you know where you got her baptism date from?

I don't have that information Kate, I just dragged up a tree from someone who was doing a different line to me ending up with Cook & Kelsey, and she just had the year - place u/l - she also showed William as born in 1740 place u/k.

She also had the marriage without place also - so I'd copied it over some years ago.
