Henrietta Suddin Binfield
George Binfield, born 1778 in Eton, BUckinghamshire and his wife Elizabeth, born c1782 in Buckinghamshire.
In 1841, George and Elizabeth Binfield have a Henrietta Binfield, 15 years old, living with them. https://search.ancestry.co.uk/cgi-bi...&usePUBJs=true In 1848, Henrietta Suddin Binfield married Charles Hobbes in Langley Marsh, Buckinghamshire. Elizabeth had died in 1844, in Eton, Buckinghamshire. George dies in 1856, in Eton, Buckinghamshire. At the moment, I cannot work out anything else about Henrietta. I cannot see a baptism, or any evidence of her after her marriage. FamilySearch just gives the date and place of the marriage. They haven't transcribed fathers' names. Any thoughts would be most welcome. Thanks for looking. |

Found them in 1861.
https://www.ancestry.co.uk/interacti...87/edit/record Looks like Hibbs. And now found the correct spelling seems to be Hebbes. But, I still cannot work out her relationship to George and Elizabeth. I am assuming they are her parents. Last edited by Tom Tom; 27-06-20 at 15:47. |

Thanks Merry! My subscription for FMP has expired, so I am down to just ancestry.
I'll put her in the tree as being daughter of George for now. As far as I can see, there were only two other children, Hannah in 1802 and Mary in 1805, so it is a big gap until Henrietta. Although, obviously there could be others I have yet to find. Or I suppose the Elizabeth George is with later on could be a different Elizabeth to the mother of Hannah and Mary. Worth looking for a burial and remarriage. I'm not very used to Buckinghamshire research so don't really know what is online and where to find it. I shall do some snooping. Thanks again Merry! |

Or Henrietta could be the illegitimate child of one of the daughters, brought up by her grandparents.

FamilySearch has the following baptism:
Name: Henrietta Sedding Sedding Event Date: 10 Dec 1826 Event Place: Eton, Buckinghamshire, England, United Kingdom Gender: Female Father's Name: John Anthony Sedding Mother's Name: Mary Binfield No image available on FamilySearch. I suspect that the actual image just gives her name as Henrietta Sedding with parents' names John Anthony Sedding and Mary Binfield (presumably not married to each other) and the transcriber, or the software, has assumed her surname would be Sedding rather than Binfield. |

There is a FreeREG transcription which also has assumed the surname Sedding. The only difference is that on FreeREG the father is John Sedding not John Anthony Sedding. There is a John Anthony Sedding though, bap 1801, Eton, Bucks.

Thank you Merry.
I saw the one bap 1801, so assume it is him. I'm descended from Henrietta's Aunt but just wanted to work out where Henrietta fit into it all and now we know. Thanks again Kate and Merry! |
