John & Elizabeth had 5 children baptised here between these dates -
Mary, William, Sarah, Elizabeth & Robert

1789-1805

Two sons, Samuel & James, baptised here between these dates

At some point between 1805 and 1825 John moved to Uggeshall, where he was a farmer. In all his children's baptisms he is described as either a labourer or an agricultural labourer

Uggeshall, Suffolk
John's wife Elizabeth was buried here in 1825.

1841
Uggeshall, Suffolk

Mary Webb 60 his sister-in-law, listed as FS
Sarah Savage 30 FS
Sarah Gillingwater 20 his granddaughter
Elizabeth Gillingwater 4 & John Gillingwater 9 months, his gt grandchildren
[it was because of the relatively unusual surname of Gillingwater that I was able to be definite this was my John Gray, Mary Webb being the clincher as later censuses show this Mary to have been born in Topcroft]

Informant Sarah Aldred, present at the death, Uggeshall
[Sarah was the married daughter of John's daughter Elizabeth Gray Utting.]
