Charlotte senior is buried at Welford Road in what looks like a common grave with several children who have different surnames (Elliott, Peach, Simpkin, Bennett and Baxter).

Abraham senior is buried at Welford Road in plot N2028 with the following people, presumably relatives of his:

Thomas Phillips, Victoria St., aged 17, buried 29/12/1875
Nellie Phillips, New Park St., aged 6 months, buried 3/10/1888
Abraham Phillips, Napier St., aged 68, buried 1/3/1890
Elsie Phillips, Napier St., aged 6 months, buried 22/7/1891

plus people with the surnames Wright and Brown; would they be relatives? If so, I'll post the details.

Thank you so much Mary.

It looks as if you've identified two of the three missing Phillips siblings.

George was killed when someone opened a car door without warning and knocked him off his bike.

I'm not sure who Frank is. The only Frank I know was killed in France in 1918.

So, only 'young Abraham' is missing. Hmm, I wonder when he is.

Thanks again. The

It would seem Franks isn't the son of Abraham and Charlotte Phillips of Bartholomew Street, but was buried from that address. I found these entries:

Births Sep 1913
Phillips Frank A Dilks Leicester 7a 395

Deaths Jun 1915
Phillips Frank A 1 Leicester 7a 286

and this marriage for his parents:

Marriages Mar 1913

Dilks Florence Phillips Leicester 7a 371
Phillips Harry Dilks Leicester 7a 371

Harry Phillips is presumably the older brother of George (I saw him on the 1901 census aged 8) and therefore Frank is the grandson of Abraham and Charlotte.

Ah, right. I didn't realise Uncle Harry had any children other than young Harry.

Thinking it through, I wonder if this is Frankie who drowned in the copper? I have a picture of him somewhere - a pretty child with angelic blond curls.

My mother told me about his untimely death, but omitted to tell me whose child he was.

I found a different Phillips boy (John Edwin aged 8, son of john Edwin) who drowned in the canal at Leicester in 1915 in a newspaper report, but not anything about Frank.

Sorry, I thought I'd checked the age of the Frank buried from Bartholomew Street but I can't have done, because he was indeed 2.

He's buried with Constance, Arthur and Frances Dilks. Let me know if you want the full details.

Is he a child of Abraham and Charlotte from Bartholomew Street? I can't see him with them on the censuses.

'Young Abraham' is Abraham Phillips from Batholomew Street, died Blaby District 1933 and buried who knows where.

It looks like Uncle Harry had four children! Frank who died as an infant, Harry b 1914 and also Jack b 1925 (mmn Dilks, reg Market Bosworth) and J*** b 1927 (mmn Dilks, reg Market Bosworth - possibly still living). I know there's a big gap from 1914-1925, so you might think the third and fourth child were from a different family, but on the 1939 register we have:

General Store , Market Bosworth R.D., Leicestershire

Harry Phillips b 3 Sept 1892 widower Plumber (heavy worker)
Emily C Bradford/Phillips b 16 Sept 1889 divorcee Housekeeper
Jack Phillips b 22 Jul 1925 single Plumber's apprentice
One closed record (presumably J*** b 1927)

Here's Florence (Dilk's) death reg:

Deaths Sep 1931
Phillips Florence 36 Mt.Bosworth 7a 92

Later, Harry married his housekeeper, Emily Bradford, nee Coley.

Marriages Sep 1941
Bradford Emily C Phillips Mt.Bosworth 7a 289
Coley Emily C Phillips Mt.Bosworth 7a 289
Phillips Harry Coley Mt.Bosworth 7a 289
Phillips Harry Bradford Mt.Bosworth 7a 289
