Jack didn't die until 2003, so someone must have had his closed record opened.

If you're talking about the 1939 Register, Merry, I thought FMP had run software which automatically checked against the GRO Death Index and opened records if it found a match.

It's just dawned on me that Uncle Harry's children were my mother's cousins.

I have two photos. One is of Frankie, who died as a toddler and the other is a formal portrait of young Harry with Florence. That's it. I know nothing about the other two at all. They were never mentioned.

I've only ever met one Phillips relative and that was Auntie Ada. I met her once, about 1970. That's it.

Time moves on and my knowledge grows.

Abraham and Charlotte lived in the Framework Knitters' Homes in Oadby and I am told they were both buried in the cemetery at Oadby. My correspondent doesn't think there would have been money for a stone. I know there would have been.

Looking at earlier posts on this thread, the lady born in 1927 is still alive and has been very helpful.

Might be worth contacting the Council for information; from this thread it looks as though they're very helpful:

Yes, I saw that. I'll add that to my list of tasks to complete.

Thanks again for all your help Mary, it's much appreciated.
