Ah, just realised - that Robert who was baptised in 1768 is Richard's brother, because his parents are also Robert and Sarah.

Oooh, and there are banns listed for Robert Westlake 10 Apr 1763. I wonder if we can find out who he married, and where.

FreeREG has two marriages at Puriton:
15 Jul 1823 John Linham married Miriam Westlake, witnesses Honour Westlake and William Linham.

24 Jun 1826 Richard Meaken married Miriam Senham, witnesses Thos Meacken, Sophis Westlake (probably supposed to say Sophia?), Joseph something and Maria Westlake. Miriam's surname looks likely to be a mistranscription, as there is a burial for John Linham 7 Oct 1823 age 35. There is a baptism for Matilda Linham 1 Jan 1824, parents John and Miriam. The FreeREG transcription doesn't mention John being deceased.

Not found the Meaken children yet, but I'm on a very slow computer at the moment.

Wow - we are coming along leaps and bounds here

I was very naughty to say Miram married Meakins.

The 5 daughters of Richard are
Ann
Honour - who died aged about 24
Miriam (who married Linham - thanks to you)
Sophia (my relative who married 2 people
and Maria

So either
Ann or Maria could have married the Meakin

I got a bit confused there - you did say Miriam had married Linham, so she must have married Meakins after that. (sorry)

Its getting late here, and Im making lots of mistakes lol
