Oh well done!

There seems to be a strong Surrey connection. Edward Walter Simpson was probably born in Kingston on Thames and the Eliza Wells that you found was also born there.

Possible George Wells / Eliza Simpson marriage Oct-Dec 1875 Brentford district on FreeBMD - the other two on the page are Alfred Rooney and Alice White.

Thanks Kite. I'd got so fixated on Mary Ann Holloway I completely forgot that Annie had another grandmother

So, that's sorted out Annie Lydia and confirmed Edward's parentage, thank you. Just Mary Ann Holloway now
